Playing poker as an investment

Can we really make a living out of poker and risk money to play for it?

If you intend to make a living out of poker, like quit your job or risk every cent that you have for it, then the answer is definitely no. Not a good idea.

Poker is a game of chance and skills.

Although skill is a big factor on this game, it doesn't necessarily guarantee that if you are a good poker player, you can win ALL THE TIME.

If you plan on investing to play poker, make sure that you have other revenues. You should only allot some money to play poker and not every little cent that you have and then you can go from there.

Online poker websites is just one of the fastest growing sites for entertainment these days, some players prefer to play on these applications rather than going for the real thing. Don’t get me wrong though, online poker is just as the same as poker. You gain and lose money, difference is that you can’t see your opponents and so can you. A facial expression for bluffs and body language isn’t part of the scene. In my opinion, you have better chance of success if you chose to invest on playing online rather than real life poker.

Professional poker players invest on other businesses to make sure that they can keep on surviving. But like other businesses, playing poker can fail. You can go from Cadillac to taxi cab. That is life. You win some, you lose some but the important thing is you tried and after failure there is a fall back. Don’t leave yourself asking on “what if”. “What if” you are destined to become the next poker superstar? Earn millions overnight with a wine on your hand, have a talk with the richest and popular people in the world, get to drive the car of your dreams and most of all, have a closer look on all the gorgeous, stunning girls of Vegas. All of this can be yours if you would play your cards right. Making the right decisions, not just in the game but on how you invest on it.

Chris Ferguson, now a pro poker player, had nothing, he took the risk as to what I have stated above. The risk of investing in poker, a bad idea you might say. Just last year he had 10,000 dollars from scratch, and after quite a while it became 24 dollars. Will his luck keep on running?

In your case, if you’re that type of person who wants to have assurance, investing on poker, make sure that you don’t gamble with all of your life’s earnings.

Professional poker players in the world has mastered the art of winning more than losing more in poker and that what keeps them from playing poker. They win big and lose small. It’s like knowing when to fold and when to call. Ask yourself, do you have the experience? Don’t just rely on luck.
